Hi,

Sorry for the delay in sending you our formal invitation to
all US members of Braidwood and Double Chooz for I was in
transit to
Hong Kong.

We would like to know at your earliest convenience the
number of people intending to attend so that we can book a large
enough meeting room in Chicago.

                                                Best regards,
                                                Kam-Biu for
                                                the Daya Bay Collaboration

===========================================================================

Dear Colleagues,

We would like to cordially invite you to an informal
discussion of the
present status of US participation in the Daya Bay reactor
neutrino
experiment. Given the rapid pace of developments, we think
it would
be useful to schedule a short 1/2 day meeting in the Chicago
area
in the afternoon on June 2 to facilitate this discussion.
You may
have heard that the Chinese Academy of Sciences has approved
50M RMB
(US$6.25M) for Daya Bay, and other Chinese agencies have
indicated
that they will follow suit. The Daya Bay project has made
very good
progress in the last few months, and we would like to inform
people
about the present status, including the envisioned US scope and
opportunities for additional collaborators. We are
interested in the
views of others in the community and think it would be
useful to have
an exchange of ideas and perspectives in advance of the June
PRC-US
workshop in Beijing. We anticipate that the format would be very
informal discussion in lieu of extensive detailed presentations.

The US collaborators associated with Double-CHOOZ and
Braidwood are
especially invited to attend this meeting. In addition, if
you are
aware of other interested parties in the US community they
are also
very welcome, and feel free to pass this message on to them.

If you plan to come to this meeting on June 2, please email

                Kam-Biu Luk (k_luk@lbl.gov)

at your earliest convenience.

When we know the scope of anticipated attendance we will
schedule an
appropriate meeting room near the Chicago airport, and
inform you of
further details.

We hope that many of you will be able to attend this meeting and
look forward to productive discussions about this project.

                                Regards,

                                The US Daya Bay Collaboration
