Hi all,
Hot on the heels of the ROOT 5 release, the GEANT4 team has released
a new major version of their software. In reading through their
release notes:
http://geant4.cern.ch/geant4/source/ReleaseNotes4.8.0.html
It looks like there have been a number of physics improvements,
especially with multiple scattering. Unfortunately, there have also
been a number of structural changes to the libraries which will
necessitate several updates to RAT. (Unlike ROOT 5, which seems to
work out of the box.) I haven't yet started investigating this, and
I'm not sure where to put it on the priority list yet.
Anyway, just wanted to warn people that GEANT 4.8.x almost certainly
won't work with RAT.
