Progress reports

Steve Sekula and Peter continue work on the GEANT4 veto simulation. They have version 1 running with basic box geometry and ascii file output for ReactorFsim. Hopefully they will have a version for CVS in about 1 week.

Jon continues with his MARS simulation to calculate neutron backgrounds to cross-check the GEANT4 numbers.

Dave Thompson and Tim have completed an output structure for each PMT in ReactorFsim. It bins energy in time windows and mimics actual PMT output for reconstruction. They are working on redoing the energy and position reconstructions using only the new PMT output data. They are working on a function to introduce a pulse shape for the PMTs. The goal is to do real PS discrimination studies and in the future to test trigger and DAQ schemes with the new PMT data.

Josh has started adapting some SNO code to add attenuation from the acrylic vessels and mineral oil buffer to ReactorFsim. He hopes to be ready in about 3 weeks.

New work

Josh is thinking about extra energy from the Cherenkov light in the oil, which is not simulated in ReactorFsim.

Zelimir is going to start adapting Tim's ReactorScint code in ReactorFsim to run the NeutronPropagator and return the energies from the neutron elastic scatters in the scintillator.

Discussion

We need to consolidate background events in ReactorFsim with a realistic time structure for the light pulses.

The goal plots in ReactorFsim to focus on are the energy spectra from:
