April 8, 2005 Meeting

Friday 8, April
1:00 - 2:00 pm CDT
Dial-in: 1-510-883-7860, at the prompt enter 826763 followed by the # sign

Attending: Josh Klein, Tim Bolton, Dave Thompson, Zelimir Djurcic, Matt Worcester

Progress reports

Dave and Tim have adapted CalculateQPosition and ImproveQPosition functions in ReactorFsim to handle their new PMT output data structure. The structure mimics the PMT pulse shape from an oscilliscope trace. They bunch the energies in time bin and merge the pulses together if they arrive within a small window defined by MergeTime.

Zelimir has not started on the neutron thermalization code.

Josh has checked in a function called TrackPhoton to do attenuation through all media to ReactorFsim, and defined a 5 cm thick acrylic vessel. Currently only 1 AV thickness can be set for both vessels (in the 3-zone configuration).

New work

Josh is changing the AV thickness to 1 cm to match Vic Guarino's engineering study numbers.

Matt is going to add multiple compton scattering to the H and Gd capture gammas.

Next Meeting(s)

Thursday, April 14th at 10:30 am EDT (full collaboration). Friday, April 22nd at 10:30 am CDT.
